Children’s Pioneer Craft Day

With our first festival of the year, come experience pioneer life, with our 1800’s school marm teaching in our one room “Church in the Wildwood” where children can also try their hand at making homemade butter. Children can also participate in crafts and games, enjoy the Moose Trax playground, ride on the Moose Trax Express train, ride the hay wagon through the woods and enjoy horse rides. On the village stage, will be live music and Soarin’ Hawk’s birds of prey demonstration, including Jefferson their bald eagle. Of course, Mackey’s General Store will be open for leisurely browsing in or enjoying the specialty foods and ice cream. Mackey’s has the region’s largest selection of Amish Jelly’s, Jams, jar goods, meats, cheeses and unique gifts.   “Cafe Moose “, voted one of the top four dining experiences in the region.   Our Old-Time Photographer will be available to help make special memories and local artisans, with their handmade crafts, and chainsaw demonstrations will also be at the village.  To help start the season, Johnny Appleseed will also be with us.

National Day of the Cowboy

Join in celebrating the 13th National Day of the Cowboy and our cowboy heritage in Indiana with cowboys, cowgirls, horses and bucking bulls. Cowboy music and entertainment on the village stage as well as Soarin’ Hawk’s birds of prey demonstration and of course with Jefferson their bald eagle. Special western crafts and games, stick horse races, hay wagon rides and horse rides for the buckaroos. Local artisans will be showing their hand crafted items as well as our chainsaw carvers displaying their unique talents. Enjoy the trip back in time to the days of yesteryear and the old west. At the Old-Time Photo shop, you can create your personal keepsake memory or make other memories as you spend time in the 1800’s village. At Mackey’s General Store you can find old time flavor in the food, the many specialty items available.  Mackey’s has the region’s largest selection of Amish Jelly’s, Jams, jar goods, meats, cheeses and unique gifts.  Relax and enjoy some great food at “Cafe Moose “, voted one of the top four dining experiences in the region.

Chainsaw Carving Festival

Come enjoy life at the Village on this long weekend and watch our local master chainsaw craftsmen create amazing sculptures from simple logs. Enjoy the variety of live music as well as Soarin’Hawk’s Birds of Prey demonstration, including Jefferson their bald eagle, on the village stage. Also on the village square, visit with our local artisans as they display their handmade crafts. For the children they can make special crafts, play games, take rides through the woods in the hay wagon, ride on the Moose Trax Express train, take individual horse rides or play in the Moose Trax playground. Everyone can enjoy the 1800’s atmosphere in the village and Mackey’s General Store will be open for leisurely browsing in or enjoying the specialty foods and ice cream. Mackey’s has the reign’s largest selection of Amish Jelly’s, Jams, jar goods, meats, cheeses and unique gifts.   “Cafe Moose “, voted one of the top four dining experiences in the region.  As our Old-Time Photo Shop and as another special feature, Johnny Appleseed will be making his last appearance for the year.

Moose Lake Fall Festival & Pumpkin Carving Day at the Village

Take in the Fall color/season and enjoy the aroma of burning logs and the special environment offered at the village at this time of year. Watch the talented chainsaw carvers demonstrate their talent, on the village stage listen to the music and watch Soarin’ Hawks Birds of Prey demonstration, including Jefferson their bald eagle, as well as talking with our local artisans as they display their handmade items. Let the children do special crafts and games as well as the opportunity to carve or paint their own personal pumpkin. The Moose Trax Express train, the hay ride wagon and the horse rides will all be available and of course everyone can enjoy the 1800’s atmosphere in the village and Mackey’s General Store will be open for leisurely browsing in or enjoying the specialty foods and ice cream. Mackey’s has the region’s largest selection of Amish Jelly’s, Jams, jar goods, meats, cheeses and unique gifts.   “Cafe Moose “, voted one of the top four dining experiences in the region.  Also open is our Old-Time Photo Shop for those special memories. Once again, this year the champion giant pumpkin and gourd will be available for pictures as well as other fall decorations.

An Old-Time Country Christmas Festival of Lights

Enjoy the overall experience and atmosphere of winter in the 1800’s village with holiday music, Christmas lights, Santa Claus and the special decorations and fragrances in Mackey’s General store at Christmastime and help us celebrate the birth of our savior Jesus Christ.  Everyone can enjoy the 1800’s atmosphere decorated with thousands of lights all over the village and Mackey’s General Store will be open for leisurely browsing in or enjoying the specialty foods and ice cream.
